Felix Immler has a video using a SAK only on sticks rather than a wood block. Made them a few times; finicky to get right but mighty powerful for gripping things.

They are intriguing but I can’t think of how I’d use them - but that’s my problem.

You can go a long way in most bushcraft/camp requirements with chop sticks - one of the most evolved tools in the world!

The chap does say it takes a lot of trial and error to achieve, and I'm not surprised, it looks mighty finicky

It was a few years ago when I tried but from what I recall I decided that you need a fairly soft wood for it to be buildable but then a soft wood doesn't make great pliers. *shrugs*

That's pretty flipping clever, but ...£10 prize to the first person to manage those cuts in a bit of hawthorn !
Basswood is only a gnats nadger harder than a firm bit of balsa.

I use tongs often, but mainly for arranging and re-arranging wood on the fire. Not sure wooden tongs would last long doing that.

I think these 10 cut pliers are more of an exercise than a practicality; a bit like a complicated try stick.
