Just finished Earth to Moon: A Memoir, by Moon Unit Zappa.
Wow! What a weird and disturbing upbringing Moon had. It doesn't reflect at all well on her parents, Frank and Gail Zappa.
Very interesting and immensely readable.

Writer is autistic and explains due to that his particular preferred writing style which is a 3rd person narrative.
There is no exchanged narrative between characters - they and their actions are only referred in the 3rd person.
Sounds like that could be tiresome or difficult? actually very easy and enjoyable to listen too.
Just finished Titus Groan and about to start Gormenghast itself after a recommendation by a friend. On a long haul tomorrow, so might download The Steading before the flight. Sounds intriguing.

I'm reading, "The Little History of Scottish Brewing", by John Alexander. The blurb on the back says, "From the time of the Picts to the present day, Scotland has played an imporrtant role in the development of British brewing, providing a host of inventions and other contributions vital to its success. Covering topics such as Scotch Ale, Porter, Shilling Ales and the the influential waters fo Edinburgh and Alloa, The Little History of Scottish Brewing will intrigue both the aficionado and the interested enthusiast."

The chap at 3 o'clock looks far too much like Tim Curry to ignore.A book about russian armys cock-ups from 1700´s to todays "3 days militaty operation" that has lasted so far 4 years.
The fella in Herman's post genuinely is tim Curry. It is a character from a command and conquer computer game.The chap at 3 o'clock looks far too much like Tim Curry to ignore.

I have no recollection of him in it, but I did love Command and Conquer, and Red Alert back in the day.
I have just read One Man's Wilderness, the account of Dick Proenneke building his cabin and living quarters, solo, with occasional deliveries by plane, over 16 months in Alaska.
It is wonderfully written by Sam Keith. I don't know how much of it is original text from Dick Proenneke's journals.
Recommended.
The photographs in the 50th anniversary edition are superb too.
