Thats what happens with a weaking magnetic shield as pole shift is accelerating.
Most people are unaware that there is over a century's worth of scientific data which shows the movement of the Earths magnetic poles have been steadily wandering at a gradually accelerating pace. Also lately the Earths magnetosphere has started to weaken slightly too. This is what seems to be responsible for the now semi-regular low latitude aurora which never used to happen just a few years ago.

There's a disputed but credible sounding theory (supported by both astronomical and geological evidence) which suggests the Earths magnetic poles flip ends every 12,000 years in response to magnetic influence from the supermassive black hole which sits at the center of the Milky Way effecting our entire galaxy. There's a channel on Youtube called SpaceWeatherNews which explains this theory in detail if anybody is interested.

Regarding the theory I'm on the fence as I'm not an expert regarding astrophysics. But to my amateur ears it does sound like it might be credible based on the evidence presented. I do wonder if we could ever have a pole flip within our lifetimes? Now that really would be something.

Aye, well over a 1000 miles in the last century, heading towards Siberia.

Seen a lot of talk regarding a geomagnetic excursion from professional sun analysts. SpaceWeatherNews, (Ben)... is one of them. I've followed him on Twitter/X for several years now.

Our understanding is limited though, based on just how long we've been observing it. Could be a completely natural part of the precessions 26k year cycle... But at the same time, we are still in an ice age... The beginning of one really given the duration of the previous 4, (the previous 4 have an average duration of 161.25 million years, this one is only 2.7 million years old) Just in an interglacial period... which research suggests has almost run its course. 12k to 15k years of interglacial, to 100k+ of glacial. ( Milankovitch cycle) Been in this interglacial almost 12k.

The sun has been getting a bit flatulent again lately. Nothing too major but enough to be worth keeping an eye on the sky in case there are aurora dancers to be seen.

Is running about 8 hours behind the model predictions (slower than predicted), so closer to 12 midnight.
