What tinder to wrap around a ferro rod?

What tinder to wrap around a ferro rod?

I like the idea of a little capsule. My rod is attached to a striker via a lanyard anyway, so I’ll just stick some tinder in a capsule and clip it on. Then I’ll wrap some gorilla tape around the rod and have tinder to catch a spark, plus some tape to extend that initial flame ready for smaller...

What tinder to wrap around a ferro rod?

Hi, On all of the bushcraft/survival stuff I’ve seen, they always have a good chunk of gorilla tape wrapped around the handle of their ferro rod. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but I’ve never managed to get the tape to take a spark. What spark-taking tinder could I wrap...

    Best warmth-to-size ratio sleeping bag?

https://www.carinthia.eu/en/g-200q-p5447/ Going to go for this one I think. I much prefer the square end and ability to open it out, compared to the mummy-type bags.

    Best warmth-to-size ratio sleeping bag?

Hi, This has probably been asked before but I couldn’t see it in previous thread titles. I’m after a 0°C sleeping bag comfort rating (around that mark, anyway) that packs down as small as possible. Any help would be much appreciated.

A bit of a weird question regarding ‘self sustaining’ veg…

I asked about a year ago and they estimated 2 years but also said it’s difficult to tell. I think there’s a couple of people ahead of me in the queue too.

A bit of a weird question regarding ‘self sustaining’ veg…

Yeah, all fair points. We always have extra tins and food around the house, this veg idea just combines two ideas I’ve always likes the sound of; having my own little veg patch somewhere, and having a bonus supply of fresh fruit/veg if needed.

A bit of a weird question regarding ‘self sustaining’ veg…

It technically belongs to a family member but they fenced it off years ago and never visit or tend to it. It’s a small, scrubby patch near a railway track and the only attention it gets is when grass cuttings get thrown at it over the fence. To get to the part the sun reaches means clambering...

A bit of a weird question regarding ‘self sustaining’ veg…

Exactly the answers I was looking for, thanks everyone. Any more suggestions? It’d be good if there was a fairly varied span of harvest times, so there would be at least something available at any one time if needed.
