Folder with just a knife and saw?

I thought the same. Buckshot said he had the same model and the saw wasn’t great for wood though, sadly.

Folder with just a knife and saw?

Yeah, that’s a fair point, but it’d also apply to any and every option on a multitool. A good pair of pliers is always stronger than a Leatherman, but people like the latter because it gets you out of trouble most of the time and comes with extra tools.

Folder with just a knife and saw?

Cheers mate. So far I still like the Schrade saw the most but the Joker and the Mercury use better blade steel.

Folder with just a knife and saw?

This has quite a few tools, on this occasion I’m after just the knife/saw combo. Cheers though.

Folder with just a knife and saw?

It’s really surprising that there are so few options out there. Anyone who’s been in and around bushcrafting/survival/camping tools for any amount of time would assume this kind of thing would be the baseline multitool for outdoor use.

Folder with just a knife and saw?

Hi, Does anyone know of a folder/multitool that just has a knife blade and a saw? I already own a few Leathermans/Victorinox with several tools on them but I was after a light option with just those two, if possible. This is the best I’ve found so far…...

    Knife suggestions?

Oh yeah, definitely look around before you pull the trigger. I just think their filters help you narrow down a knife if you’re being particular about size/materials/price/grind, etc.

    Knife suggestions?

Lamnia’s a great website for stuff like this. You can filter by blade length, material, price, and a dozen other attributes. Here’s a few that may fit the bill… https://www.lamnia.com/en/p/78440/knives/nieto-grillo-g-10-130g10...

    Beeswax

I was going to start with a small tin of it and see how good it is at all of those attributes, I suppose.

    Beeswax

I’ve read a few bits about beeswax of late and it seems pretty good for everything. Apparently it’s good for your skin (as a lip-balm especially), keeping knives and tools rust-free, bringing leather and wood to life, and even as a grease substitute for a squeaky hinge. Is all of this true...

What tinder to wrap around a ferro rod?

Tiny alcohol wipes could be a great shout.

What tinder to wrap around a ferro rod?

I like the idea of a little capsule. My rod is attached to a striker via a lanyard anyway, so I’ll just stick some tinder in a capsule and clip it on. Then I’ll wrap some gorilla tape around the rod and have tinder to catch a spark, plus some tape to extend that initial flame ready for smaller...

What tinder to wrap around a ferro rod?

Hi, On all of the bushcraft/survival stuff I’ve seen, they always have a good chunk of gorilla tape wrapped around the handle of their ferro rod. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but I’ve never managed to get the tape to take a spark. What spark-taking tinder could I wrap...
