Small disclaimer and an apology. I know I've referenced to "woodgas" and "gas" and people call the small double wall stoves (and in this case single wall) "wood gas stoves" they're not really imho. They don't hold enough fuel, not thermal efficient enough and not really able to get enough...

Here you go Macaroon. Best pics/vid I can get with my phone camera and a borrowed tablet/memory card. Used hardwood floor scraps (oak and parawood) as its the only hardwood I had that's dry (stored in shed) Smidgen of tar on pot, but its minimal. Get about a half hour burn once its going...

British Army issue Tin opener (the one found in the old tin rations 1980’s)

Ive got a knock off made by Gelert. Sharpened it with a bit of wet and dry wrapped round a dowel, they come relatively blunt. Its not that well made but it does open tins http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gelert-Mini-Can-Openers-Card/dp/B000QH1NNU Got mine from sports direct...

    Stainless bottle hanger

Thanks gents Just because there's no mess in the pictures doesn't mean there wasn't stuff chucked all over the place : D

top lit up draft. You fill the canister up with wood, up to where the holes are just below the lid and build a small twig fire on top of that. It then burns down the center and out (like a Sweedish fire log) gasifing the unburnt wood as it goes ( the heat build up in the container gasifies...

No need for a trivet. Cut straight into the drainer. Used a slightly smaller one for the pot stand for my single wall tlud. Its bent inward to take my tatonka mug, but can take the weight of a larger (2L) pot and still be sturdy enough.

    Stainless bottle hanger

Thanks folks. The spoke. No, a thicker spoke/rod will (like the mouth spreaders) but at 2mm its too thin. That stainless strip is .75mm thick by 22mm wide (was a ***** to cut with snips) so there's much more steel/spring behind it. The surface area of the strip also helps keep the bottle from...

    Stainless bottle hanger

Was looking for a way to hang a bottle over the fire when boiling water, usually just put it straight in the fire but its a pain to get them out. No wire rim on the 1L stainless bottles I've got so couldn't use wire hangers (MCQ style), or clip on chains (Like Alpkit sells) but I did see the...

    Old birch tree stumps

Do you mean its started to spalt? If it is, you have to stop the spalting by drying it out properly. Loads of info about spalting on the web. If its big enough for what you want, the section you want hasn't been bored into by to many bugs and still has some structural integrity I'd dry and use...

Video Journal - Camp Construction Begins (and a bit of bowl carving!)

Lashing can be done with cable ties. Quick, strong and they hold well. Nip down to screwfix and buy a big pack. There's a web series on youtube of someone building a shelter using them. Might give you some tips too. Part 1 of 7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-xxmNzlCdc

    brush bristles

Only thing I can think of that's that long and stiff enough would be a hazel brush/broom. like so https://img1.etsystatic.com/000/0/5806356/il_570xN.127305113.jpg Mr Mears making a rough one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPZjMe7Qov4 Can't see why a small v gouge couldn't make fine bristles.

    first time wet weather tarping

Do you have a bivy bag? If not, they're really worth it. Help with the wind as well as the wet/damp air. Big fan of a lean to with a side dropped like this (using dead wood I find as poles and pitched into the wind)...

Hazard 4 Poncho Villa - AVOID!

Genuine question (maybe I'm missing something). Why do you need a "breathable" poncho? Use a sea to summit nylon poncho regularly (as a poncho and rigged as a tarp over a bivi bag) As long as you keep the air flowing through it, its fine.

tube container with 30mm diameter - help needed

Urine/specimen jar. Loads on ebay. Cheaper than £3 a pop on that UCO one. e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30ml-clear-sample-container-test-tube-vial-screw-top-x10-storage-craft-CL30-10-/120916341949?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c272cf4bd...

    Solar Air Lantern

Britain..... Solar powered. Should be fun ;) A dynamo pop up one would be better. Like so http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POWERPlus-Meerkat-Wind-Up-Expanding-Camping-Lantern-Dynamo-Mobile-Phone-Charger-/141680529052?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20fcd14e9c
