I agree that the tins are definitely becoming thinner and more minimal - not surprising really when you think about it - I wonder if its possible to even imagine the amount of metal in worldwide circulation that is essentially a disposable ( albeit recyclable in most countries ) container.

I could see merit in a very thin , non plastic windproof / water treated poncho that could pack down small - if one stops to view animals or have a brew break could be used to just cover over.

Maybe for the shorter individuals? Not sure if it could be treated to be water resistant.? But as something to throw intop of a day sack to put on when stopping to create a thermal envelope? maybe some merit. I was looking for something poncho like but didn't feel or sound like disused...

Holts been in quite a lot to be honest - mostly not as the main lead - Alien3 , The Losers , and more recently the rather brilliant Mindhunters - the docuseries covering the start of the FBI behavioural science team before serial killer was a much used term - also worth checking out.
