I think we need to accept that the general standard of living and our place in the financial pecking order overall has changed / degraded somewhat. Once you accept that things seen and experienced can be a little easier to come to terms with.

I do like the idea of a legacy treasure hunt to be honest , something that can be ongoing and followed for many years , using features that will most likely be around for many decades.

Or more likely - that the money you do pay in taxes is better utilised -better audited - better controlled and better kept out of potentially corrupt hands and under an eye of 'best use'

Think that's a natural part of though life isn't it? I get trying to not do it , but its part of the shaping like wind on rocks - it happens. And sometimes , required. I do not try to get involved in belief structures however.

Land is a good investment if one has the spare capital lying around- but without it you'd have to service a mortgage and interest debt on potentially something you can't find a rentee for. Difficult to imagine how one can make direct money out of some of your friends purchases unless planning...

I more meant is Gold actually going UP in price or is it that the fiat money becoming more 'worth less' and actually you have just retained it buying power by moving to Gold. You cousins are fortunate to have you think and look out for them.
