Powering gadgets - battery banks or solar charger?

Power bank, unless you can provide a large continuously sunlit surface, e.g trekking in the Sahara...

28 second Kerosene (heating oil) in Tilley lamps?

I am, just driving trough :). Actually I'll use another one, both quoted around £1.30. Insane pricing, but still far cheaper than the pre-packed stuff.

28 second Kerosene (heating oil) in Tilley lamps?

Many thanks! I found a service station, that sells heating oil from a pump, apparently they have many customers putting the new, low sulfur 28s in their lamps. I am definitely stocking up then and forget the hyperinflated £2.2+/L stuff. Yes, generator use, although very limited might come up...

Stove experience count as well. Smell, smoke, charring, etc?

28 second Kerosene (heating oil) in Tilley lamps?

Premium paraffin comes at a hefty price premium and the recent standard for heating oil (28sec kero) improved, particularly regarding sulfur content. Could anybody share first hand experience using fresh heating oil in a paraffin lamp, particularly indoors?

Tilley x246b vs Tilley Guardsman vs classic Vapalux

Thank you! Indeed, price is a complex product of material value, availability and practicality. I am definitely staying away from petrol units for safety reasons.

Tilley x246b vs Tilley Guardsman vs classic Vapalux

I need some practical insight, in what ways are the more expensive Vapalux and restored Guardsman lamps better than the modern x246b-s? E.g does the aluminum pump wear out faster, etc? Light output, efficiency would also be interesting.
