    Fit Bit

I swear by my flex, I've been trying to get much fitter, I'm walking a minimum of 5 miles a day now, and working towards a 40 mile hike next year, all spurred on by being able to monitor my progress on my flex. I've also lost 60lbs since the beginning of the year with it.

    Tripod choice and carry options

I use a few different tripods, a Gitzo explorer with Manfrotto 405 geared head for jobs near the car, a Gitzo Mountaineer with Manfrotto 410 geared head for shorter distance jobs and finally for long distance travelling a Redged 525 which fold up tiny and only weighs 1.25kg, ideal for hiking...

    Waterproof Gloves

I wear sealskinz ultra grips for landscape photography, they're thin and flexible enough to be able to operate a camera through.

HEADS UP Nextorch Knight Star Head Torch - 21% of original price, 79% off!!

Thanks for that, I've got a landscape photography trip to Glencoe, Skye and Applecross in a couple of weeks and was ready to upgrade my headlight, I've ordered one and will report back on how it works.

    Down Jackets?

I've got the RAB neutrino gilet and it seems a very well made thing, I'm sure the jacket will be the same.

    Any other photographers?

Guys, those of you who hanker back to the old ways have a look at a medium format digital back. You can get an early back for a couple of grand now, and use it on all sorts of legacy gear. The quality is superb, very little noise, no AA filter to soften things and with the earlier backs your...

    Any other photographers?

I'm a landscape photographer from North Yorkshire. My interest in bushcraft came whilst I was building a light expedition vehicle to live in whilst on shoots. In addition to Yorkshire I spend a lot of time on the West Coast of Scotland and in the lakes. I've got a trip to Iceland coming up in...

Anyone else disappointed with vibram soles?

I've got vibram soles on my north face hedgehogs, on the whole they're very good but walking back to my apartment through town they're lethal on wet metal, manhole covers etc.

    Sony GPS-CS1 GPS Tracker

I'd like that, currently using an AMOD logger but it gets through batteries. I've not bought anything off here so don't know what protocol is. I have 365 +ve feedback on eBay as markmullen and plenty on talkphotography on the same name. How do we deal? By email? I'm at mark at...

    What's your favorite watch?

My favourite is my Omega Speedmaster Professional, the Moonwatch. It goes everywhere with me, I just wish it was waterproof. I've got a Seiko Black Monster, a Citizen Ecodrive and a G Shock too for rough jobs. My next purchase are going to be a Rolex, probably a stainless datejust or airking...

    21st century sos

I've got a delorme inreach for my solo landscape photography trips after I nearly took a tumble in Glen Etive, on my own, at dawn, in November. I went for inreach as it is two way, you can get confirmation that help is on its way, I thought that would be a massive morale boost in an emergency...

    Teach me about sleeping bags?

I got the American military modular system and have been really pleased with it, it has coped with sub zero in the Brecon Beacons in November through to 35 degrees in Le Mans in June. It isn't the smallest or lightest but I'm usually in a car or 4x4 so not an issue.
