    Cheap but good sharpening stone

OK, I'll have a second look at that £5 kit then, and as the F1 is known for having hard steel then I'll also look at a diamond stone. Thanks Hoodoo :)

    Cheap but good sharpening stone

Lol I did, but I'm a bit wary of taking some wet and dry to my shiny new knife! Plus I have more than £5 to spend, so I was hoping for something a bit more off the shelf since I don't have any tools available and live in a flat! Thanks for the suggestion though!

    Cheap but good sharpening stone

Hi, fairly new on here and just looking for some inexpensive advice. I've recently bought a Fallkniven F1 and want to keep it sharp, so I've been reading the stickies and tips on here, but the problem is I can't afford to splash out on the japanese waterstones that are recommended (and my OH...

Recommend a Gore tex Jacket ?

I've got the Craghoppers aquadry and it's very good, only cost me about £60 too and it's a dark green colour so it fits your description. I've also got a Mountain Equipment Prolite which is fantastic - goretex pro shell and it does the job superbly. Cost me £80 off eBay.

B.O.B set up( not all done)

I understand that there's dangerous wildlife but do you need the large military type knife and the bayonet mate? I'm guessing the bayonet weighs a fair amount thats all. What about replacing those 2 with a machete - still a blade if you need it but half the weight and a useful tool too?

    They don't understand!

My fiancee always goes on at me for 'wasting' money on kit 'I'll never need' and moans when I watch any outdoorsy-type programs. I always tell her that when the plane crashes and we're stranded on a desert island and she whinges at me she's hungry and how do we get something to eat I'll say "I...

A good light weight 2 man tent under 2kg Help!

Lightwave G1 ion or Terra Nova superlight voyager - awesome tents, but it depends on your budget I guess! I have the lightwave and it really is excellent, but its slightly over your weight requirements so I'd look at the voyager :)

    Snugpak Elite 3 Sleeping Bag

I haven't seen the particular bag you mention, but my brother does have a snugpack winter bag and in backpacking terms its massive even when compressed. Snugpack bags tend to be heavy too, I looked at them before buying my Alpkit and the weight really put me off.

    My Polish Tent

Yep here it is http://www.lutonarmysurplus.co.uk/campingtents.htm Unfortunately it weighs more than my 2 man tent, so I'll give it a miss - good if there're 2 of you though!
