    Vegetarian/vegan camp food?

If you read the first post you'll note that the OP wrote the following: I've recently HAD to become vegetarian due to health issues, (40 years of being a carnivore, not a lifestyle choice I would willingly make) and I'm struggling to find food I can take camping. I am not a carnivore, I am an...

    Vegetarian/vegan camp food?

Yep, that's your sort, can't offer a rational rebuttal so take the gap. When you reach the student-politics level of debate, let me know.

    Vegetarian/vegan camp food?

At the risk of echoing your petulance, get a mirror... and as for threads, start one yourself in which the first post makes it clear that anyone who doesn't agree with you is unwelcome, and I promise not to participate in it... Back on topic, the options for someone who wants to eat meat but...

    Vegetarian/vegan camp food?

It really hasn't; read the thread and you'll see the OP is not going for a veg' diet by choice... and so, if alternatives that offer him a preferred diet may be possible, why not mention them? Perhaps you are just suffering from the original (or transferred?) self-righteousness that a tiny...

    Vegetarian/vegan camp food?

We evolved as opportunistic carnivorous omnivores, and we also got sugar fixes - via honey / fruits - too now and then. And we can, rather unsurprisingly, work pretty well with a modern diet that reflects this. I raise beef and lamb, but if stat's are to be believed, I eat less meat than the...

Yep, I have the Thucydides, very good versions.

    What are you currently reading?

The thing is, some of Shakespeare is without question at the genius level, but the vast majority is pretty average, or worse. I think that the 'Shakespeare Worship' we see is down to two things. Firstly, because there wasn't a vast amount of stuff at the time and not all of what there was has...

    Incubating poultry

Which is entirely reasonable and understandable; after all, from pigeons it's only a small step to whippets, and from there the descent to ferrets, flat-caps and worse... :woot:

    Incubating poultry

Not my field of practise, but I have vague recollections of having had to read up on this sort of thing... such a clause was usually inserted by developers to keep a new area 'nice'. As with any other part of your deeds, you need to be sure of who wrote it and who can - and will - enforce it...

    Incubating poultry

Crazy prices for a hen, Dutch tulips come to mind, and even dogs during lockdown. Nature is always best and most pleasing, but failing that as an option you are quite right, incubators are a very good way to start off.

Yes, me too, it's odd how these sort of threads can bring out the enthusiasm...

    Fly-Tying

Here is a thread that brings back pleasant memories... I used to tie when I was a lad, was taught by an uncle, and used them - often with some sort of permission... - on the very beautiful river Chess in Herts. Its fair to write, and I'm not exaggerating here, that I really was...

What's making these little holes in the ground?

    Roughage...

What's making these little holes in the ground?

Could be rabbits, or even a squirrel. However, that nearest hole looks to have some crap in it (the dark stuff), and that would most probably mean a badger. But... they usually leave more than appears to be in that hole. Easiest way to tell if it's badger crap is to get a dog near it, if the...
