    Day Out New grill

Ace pics. I had never heard of this stuff until a friend cooked one for us. Breakfast in the woods and it was lovely. Served with hot sauce and for breakfast I might add once again! Heresy! Loved it

What is the point of taking an axe bushcrafting?

I think its just a weight vs efficiency calculation. If the car is within strolling distance then why not as its an ace force multiplier when used well. Plus a big saw if needed. Bring all your tools if you are going to use/play with them. When away in the canoe for multiple days then we don't...

    Minimalism a lost art?

The kit has to match the task at hand. Sounds very clinical I know but surely anything else is just for comfort, entertainment or maybe just tradition? All of which are equally valid of course If that task is "Bushcraft" then its a term that can mean so much for so many folk so not two sets...

    Kicking the Habit

Humbly suggest you read "The only way to stop smoking" By Allen Carr. No, not the comedian :) I suffered all the various methods of quitting over the years then read this guys very short book. I was 20+ minimum a day for about 20 years and as soon as I had finished the book I was done with...

    Life Hacks

Doing something difficult or uncomfortable on a regular basis, what ever it may be. I train three or four times a week and have done for the past decade. I am luck enough to train regularly with fighters I will never beat. I regularly think to my self I really don't have it in me today but I do...

    Torturing sticks again.

I shall get one of the kids to take a photo :) I would usually have one from on the tree but it was mostly made by feel which is easier to do at this weight. Also has a bit of limb twist so from one side one limb looks stiff, turn it over and the other limb looks stiff lol.

    Torturing sticks again.

Thanks. I usually end up with flat bows due to wood selection. That and I just prefer the look of them, the different things you can play with such as recurve type etc. 30# is more than enough as if I'm honest with my self I'm just not an archer. Yes I love to fling a few arrows when in the...

    Torturing sticks again.

Hi All, It has been a long time since I tortured some sticks so in an effort to reduce my pile of "maybe" staves I made this. Its a bit of wych elm that must be 10+ years old. It has sat covered in dust trying its best not to look like fancy kindlin for a long time and just managed to scrape...
