You have a knife, 1 quart metal canteen and 50 foot of paracord. Sustain life.

It's a shame to see that most people here don't appreciate that there are plenty of situations you can find yourself in having never imagined you could be in that position. I would say most people in emergency situations have felt that it would never or could never happen to them. Yes it's...

    Homelesness

None in the end. But with people including passing community support officers taking it at face value, I very nearly got in the crap.

    Homelesness

Hitting someone once in self defence isn't beating someone up... It's a justifiable warning to let them know that if they really want to go there then I'm willing to return the favour. I don't know about you, but if someone starts to attack me then I don't care whether they're homeless, what...

    Homelesness

I very nearly got into serious trouble after trying to help a homeless person out. There was a homeless guy playing an acoustic guitar and singing and he was very very good. I've seen enough people tanked on booze and drugs to know when someone is either high or drunk, and he looked pretty...

No, not one of those 50 Cent hats :P Let's just assume it's a baseball cap you got from a supplier. A basic and bland baseball cap with a small manufacturers logo.

What's wrong with the F1? Fallkniven make some of the best knives available. Most people take blades far too big than they need.

2 imperial pints. I didn't know it had been done here in the past, I've only just signed up here and thought I would get some discussion going on it. And it's not winter yet, time to prepare.

Well I guess the majority of people that are out and about either wear beige or green or camo gear, just figured I'd choose the first one that came to mind and as I have a beige pair of shorts on my bed I went for that lol. Yes experience determines what you can do and how well you can do it...

Well let's say that the terain is the local open areas around you. This is a self-sustaining situation, not to sit it out until rescue. Just the items you have and the knowledge you have to maintain life. I know it's a fairly loose definition, but hopefully people from different environments can...

Landscape tour of the Highlands. ( Picture Heavy.)

Wow!!! That first picture is a really great one, as are all of them. But I think the first one pictures just how beautiful the outdoors can be and how enjoyable it can be to be in and around!

Bow Making - Just how difficult is it?

Hello, I've been meaning to learn how to craft a bow and arrow from completely natural materials. I understand that a lot of it will be trial and error whilst I pick it up, but on the whole is it difficult? Apparently Sweden has started to allow some forms of bow hunting, though I think...

    New blade

http://ee33.co.uk/product.asp?strParents=92,139&CAT_ID=139&P_ID=3773 You can get one in Micarta there :) And yes, knives can be addictive lol. But I think I've founded my long-term knife in the F1. A 3.75 inch blade is perfect for me and it's a solid design.

    New blade

This isn't my first F1, Johnny, and the others are in perfect working order. I just fancied something with a wooden handle :) But they are really really amazing knives! I've used my oldest F1 for a few years now and it's still razor sharp. I don't batton with it, I only use it for light work...

    New blade

Well my new F1 arrived yesterday and I was meaning to post some pictures but I've been busy! I will take some pictures later on today at some stage. But for the time being, this is the knife, the Fallkniven F1 Micarta.
