    What did you buy today?

This weekend was my birthday. I got a Filson waxed canvas anorack, Mystery Ranch backpack, and am waiting on a Randall style custom knife. Last week I did find a military clasp knife (British)at a flea market. Was interesting to me in that #1 I don't see them very often in my home state. #2 it...

    Best Bushcraft Knife to Buy?

Also, forgot to say,Schenk Knives,in Idaho,USA makes some great knives. I have their "Cochise"knife designed by David Holliday,an instructor specializing in the desert South West. The blade is a little longer than my palm is wide, but I would not feel "underknifed"if it were my only blade.

    Best Bushcraft Knife to Buy?

I know knives, like opinions abound within these forums. Here in the North East,USA I found a maker in New York State, Adventure Sworn, and he makes some fantastic knives. I have two of his,the Classic,a woodlore clone, and his Guide,a Nessmuk styled full tang. A little pricey but each a lifetime...

    The Experts Choice

Another book that is very good imo,is Cache Lake Country by John Rowlands. It does talk some of knives and axes and such but it is so much more.I can't put it into words,if you like woodcraft check it out.

    BRKT Aurora - First impressions

I've been using my Aurora for a while now,and I feel as it is the best knife I've used. I don't have the means to get a custom, and I felt this to be a good choice. I ordered mine with a green Micarta handle with red spacer material,I liked it so much I ordered one of their PSK's as well with...

    Enzo blades

Thanks for the input. Xav,I know the kit would be a lazy man's option, but thats o.k. I find myself better at sheath making, they may be a little rough, but they would not fall apart in the bush. I may give one a chance and post pics,as soon as my wife lets me use her camera.

    Enzo blades

Has any one tried making a knife from an Enzo kit? I saw them on Ben's Backwoods site, seems like they would be a good weekend project. Would only have to choose between o-1 or a-2 steel and a wood or micarta handle. Any feedback would be great. Regards, Blackwolf1

    Kellam Wolverine?

The knife is the Kellam Puukko,it is a really good knife.I differs from the Wolverine a little. The blade is slightly longer at 3.75" on the Puukko, and the handle is contured differently as well. The Wolverine however has Kellam's SPT heat treatment which to me sounds like a differential heat...

I've stated that I am a fan of Bark River knives, especially their bushcraft line. I've used North Stars,Mini north stars and am now using an Aurora. All are convex ground and screaming sharp. All I've done to sharpen them ,or just a touch up has been a simple stropping.Very easy to...
