    Eydon Model DS Storm Kettle

Nah mate, we have a lot better health and environmental policies in Europe. Everything else similar european production is cleaner as well as not affecting trade defencies to China. My phone is probably chinese, it's about six years old. I got it from work. I will probably get a new one in...

    Eydon Model DS Storm Kettle

I do not shop with those. The last ten years or so I'm trying to vote more and more with my wallet. At least I will die knowing that I did what I could and that my consumption treated people as I wanna be treated. Each one to their own. I've also finished my business with meta, twitter (long...

You expressed your view as an ubiquitous fact. Which is bullshit. Have you even tried any other?

    Eydon Model DS Storm Kettle

This from a few summers ago. I took my horse and cart and was out for a few days. She wasn't really used to being on a tether, but after a few nights it was second nature. The kelly performed flawlessly. Can't fault it. Other than being chinese made.

    Eydon Model DS Storm Kettle

That's the biggest selling point of the kellys for me, i.e. that the base is stainless even with the aluminium ones.

Ha! Thank you! Although I also had a second question for them, namely if the poppin model was available in nato green...

    Eydon Model DS Storm Kettle

Yeah, not made in the far east is a big deal for me and that is where kelly fails. Aren't eydon made in the uk too? I've sent them an email about it. Hopefully they'll reply.

How does eydon compare to ghillie and kelly? I have a kelly but want a smaller one. I will not buy kelly again as they're made in china.

    Best bushcraft trousers?

I find that the weather, activity and ground conditions dictate trouser choice. If it is fairly dry I usually use woolen or worsted trousers, fairly often just plain old jeans (wrangler 13mwz). If it's fairly wet I use a pair of plus twos and wellies (I used to hate wellies, but nowadays it's a...

My probably annual winter jacket recommendation thread!!

I have a really old mountain equipment lightline down jacket that covers my bum. But it is fairly bulky and a bit fragile. Duffel coat might be an alternative that is long, warm and not surplus.

My probably annual winter jacket recommendation thread!!

The price difference is partly set by the market. But there is huuuuuge difference in production details that dictates costs. A LOT. Canada goose is indeed one of those brands where you don't get what you pay for. Fjällräven on the other hand are really picky with their subcontractors and...

My probably annual winter jacket recommendation thread!!

Didrikson used to be a real good brand but for old school oilskins which commercial fishermen use. I think they got bought up a decade or so ago and some investment company wanted to squeeze every penny out of the good reputation they had for their commercial rainwear, and they branched out in...

EDC folders for slaughter, disembowelment and skinning of livestock (!)

Did the butchering last night (emphasis on night). Used the cleaver quite a lot. Among other things for cleaving the spine. It wasn't easy, the blade needs to be very symmetrically ground otherwise it easily wanders off. Makes for a very clean cut though. No need for wiping off bone dust like...

Same here. But just bought a vintage cleaver which I will put thru its paces.
