Looking to get a one man "solo" type tent.

Interesting thread! I was looking for a tunnel type tent for trekking in the woods with my gundog and thought a 1 man tent was ok, but I learnt here that it will indeed too small for the 2 of us and some gear. I heard alot of good of Gelert tents and they're also within a budget, considering...

    Tips on Dog Training.

Best suggestion: check for qualified puppy classes in your area. Ideal would be for retrievers/gundogs. IMHO there is no freespirit desiderable on a dog and neither he desires it. He needs you to be a consistent point of reference for him. What you would like to achieve in terms of obedience and...

    Fjallraven G1000 trousers

Thanks for the feedbacks! So far I only waxed a couple of Barbour accessories (hats) and a Filson vest. It was pretty easy but it didn't require particular care since they were all "field" items whilst instead I also wear my fjallraven trousers on a everyday basis.

    field game/shoulder bag?

Not saying that, but I learnt that you cannot save too much on equipment you may relay on, one day. So yes, Belstaff colonial bag is indeed too pricey (maybe thanks to hollywood advertisement in a movie), but on the repro bag there are no reviews and feedbacks. I would not discard it as bad, but...

    field game/shoulder bag?

I thing I saw it. It's a camera bag, quite cheap and padded on the inside. It's an exact copy of the belstaff, i think the brand is koolertron, but there are no reviews on it...maybe too good to be true?

    field game/shoulder bag?

this morning I took a quick decision and went for the fjallraven one. I found a good deal for the light khaki one through Ilovemykanken (sportinglodge) with 15% discount and ordered it. the coolest by far is the belstaff colonial bag but it's way off my pocket. Hope I won't be disappointed. :)

    field game/shoulder bag?

Hello Swotty, I am still considering it however at £75 + postage it is a bit too pricey. I like the light kakhi model with brown leather, but for some reason here I can only find them with tan leather. It is a strong and cool looking bag indeed but for that money I would be tempted to throw in...

    field game/shoulder bag?

I would like to upgrade my fishing/field bag with a new one, possibly made of canvas and leather. Filson makes great bags but they're off budget for me. I was considering a fjallraven vintage shoulder bag but somehow it looks more like an office satchel rather than something I could carry on the...

    Fjallraven G1000 trousers

Hello, I recently bought a pair of Fjallraven G1000 trousers and I was wondering your experience with them, in respect of care and manteinance. On Fjallraven website they suggest to wash G1000 at 40°C in washing machine but they also mention that it will wash away the wax. Since I use the...

    Six Field Jackets

Hi, thanks for the answer. I read you, I have the same problem with size: usually a L (42"-44") fits me fine but this one is a bit too big. A medium would have fit better, however I am not sure for the sleeve lenghth, because the L is fine for me.

    Six Field Jackets

I revamp this old thread because I recently bought a Barbour Berwick Breathable jacket just like yours, secondhand but in perfect conditions. It came unfortunately without the hood. I am curious then on your remark about the hood because I was on the look for one. Why you found it not so good...

So, gaiters. Who likes 'em and who doesn't?

I use them. It depends mostly on where you go and what you have to do with them. I wear them with hiking boots (short model of gaiters, just up above the ankle) to prevent ticks from climbing up inside my pants and to protect me from wet grass. For other terrains / activities I prefer wax leggings.
