    Article: Cartridge Case Matchbox

Super article. That idea from Wicca using 16 and 12 bore spent cartridges is also brill. Making two of the same but sealing the overlap with resin on the second would make a reasonably watertight backup should the first ever get damaged, soaked or dropped. goodjob

    What have you done Ray

Ray knows his stuff, has no need to prove anything to anyone and only laughs when there's something naturally worth laughing at. Sounds like good bush company to me. :camping:

Article: Pooping Perfectly in the Woods

I can vouch for snow. goodjob 3 or 4 oblong hand sized lots of packed snow, usually prepared whilst fertilizing the forest, are very effective and easy to use: and definitely not as uncomfortable as the imagination likes to suggest! Can also be a real asset if lots of beans or warming Chilli...

    Breakfast!

For me nothing beats canadian style pancakes with a drizzle of quality maple syrup and a couple strips of back bacon. Mmmm ... Ooh, and don't forget the black coffee! :D

    Decent "Wild Foods" fieldbook

Haha ... I love the juxtaposition! The last person needing to be told where to get food for free is a newborn baby! Wonderful photograph, and a beautiful child.

    Children and knifes

It depends on a few things I guess: age, sensibility, parenting style, parental experience with knives, personality, knife type. As a Canadian farm boy I grew up surrounded with so many dangers that the use of a knife was relatively minor. I also saw working knives being used and carried on...

    Seasonal cooking herbs.

I was wondering if anyone could advise / inform me of any herbs available at this time of year for tea or cooking such as stew. For example I have heard that needles from certain conifers make a good tea. It would be particularly helpful if there were any photos to help me find and...
