They've killed Aliexpress here. Anything coming from outside the EU, no matter the value, gets Danish VAT added, plus any other import taxes, and finally an £18 handling fee from the post office.
It takes the fun out of buying something for 50p plus postage.
If I'm drinking water, I'll most likely be drinking directly from my water bottle. I use the metal cup for heating water up for coffee or whatever, and I'll then either drink directly from the metal cup, or pour it into one of the folding plastic mugs (that I always keep in my pocket) if the...
Not sure of the current diesel prices in Sweden and Norway as it's been a few months since I was last there, but Denmark is a bit cheaper than the UK. I paid 8.39 per litre yesterday (about £1.01), so it might be worth filling up before you get to Sweden.

Here is the first one I found on Google (they may be available elsewhere for less, I haven't checked)...
Never mind the Amazon nonsense (postage, and the 25% surcharge for living in Denmark would ruin that idea for me anyway), I like the idea of a 'put a kit together on a budget' challenge.
I think I could put an okay kit together from my local hardware stores and supermarkets.
Never tried it myself, but I know that ACW reenactors often use oilcloth haversacks.
There are a some recipes for making oilcloth here: http://www.cwreenactors.com/forum/showthread.php?17533-Tar-a-Haversack&
