    handlining?

    Have you tried lures? They can be easily be made from a piece of bone or plastic and then let it run free to the hook at the end. the lure should be heavy to make it easier to throw. Then its just a matter of chucking it in and perfecting your trolling skill.

    Thanks for all the positive replies, Most of my current work is with Yemeni fishermen who have been teaching me bits and pieces of plant, fish and animal lore. If you have never had incense bubblegum and Qat I do recommend it.

    greetings all, Just to introduce myself, am an archaeologist and interested in early cultures, perhaps why I enjoy being outdoors and enjoying "wild" nature, so want to be able to experience it outside of the normal camping situation.

    Non expensive kit

    The wisest of them all, a mix makes the best sense. Quality waterproofs for me I hate getting soaked and sleeping wet!
