I have just downloaded the first of these programs and it looks superb, all in Norwegian mind you, but still very educational and entertaining.

The blurb states...

The very popular series called “Nordkalotten 365″ has been aired on traditional TV in Norway and is now made available for download. In this series the experienced hiker Lars Monsen has traveled alone through the north of Scandinavia for one year. The first episode is already published and the next episodes will be made available as they are encoded.

He's an interesting guy isn't he.

He walked solo across Canada and Alaska a few years ago. It took him two and a half years, so one year is probably a bit of a stroll in the park for him

I don't know, he has to yank one of his toenails off in the first episode, maybe not such an easy stroll :)

I have watched all his shows they are really great and easy to watch. Every episode he travels around with different means of transport. Great country too. Even when you can't understand him you will get the point.

where do I have to click to get it???

redneck, the TV company is distributing these files a peer to peer network, this can make for a very speedy distribution of very large files (each movie is about 700 MB) but you will need to install some type of torrent downloading software on your machine first.

For the Apple platform, Transmission would be a good bet...

Many thanks to Jared who suggested this app for PC users

Once you have installed your torrent software, click on these links to download each episodes torrent file, clicking on these will begin the download to your machine.

I left my machine running over night and downloaded all eight episodes.

Once you have your movies downloaded, you should be able to view them with the media software already in your machine, if not try VLC (works on Windows, Linux & Apple), which also has the advantage of being able to run subtitles for these programs if and when anyone writes them :)

Hope this helps

I've just downloaded the whole series and watched it and it is fantastic, you may need to download Miro, to watch it as I could not get windows media player to work with it.

Despite the language issues, the series is awesome, you gotta take your hat off to Molsen. It would have been nice to get subtitles but the NRK say it is open for anyone to "free sub it",. I think this guy is awesome and it really would be nice to get a narrative with the series so hopefully someone will do it.

I can't find anything in english about this guy execpt on wikipedia...

Enjoy it, I did, this is the real deal.

The VLC application I mentioned above will play these files too, it will also permit the simultaneous playback of subtitle files if they ever become available and this isn't too unlikely as all thats required is for a group of Norwegian speakers to type out the text in english and add the time the speech begins and ends above and below each piece of dialogue.

If several Norwegian speakers get together they can choose to translate only a small part of the program, say ten minutes worth, not much too it really.
