Happy new year y'all.

I posted this on BB the other day but whipped up a sheath for this last night and thought you'd like to see the finished article.

Roselli Momma blade, masur birch, birch bark & dyed & stabilised elder burl bolster.

Sheath was inspired by the "attractive" Mora 2000 sheath...but with a bit of a bushcrafty twist ;)

Fiddly would be a gross understatement when describing the sheath construction!

Birch bark held together by the leather but I used steam to bend the bark in and out and back in again to shape  It holds its shape pretty well once 'set'.

Thanks for looking :beerchug:

Good work scruff :)
Both the knife and sheath look good. Nice bit of originality using birch bark for the sheath. I'm not too sure wether I'd totally trust a birch bark sheath though. How tough is it? Unfortunately I've never come across birch bark strong enough to make sheaths etc. :(

Thanks for the kind words guys.

The bark is surprisingly strong especially once 'set' into shape after steaming. Its about 2.5-3mm thick so its pretty robust, plus its tubular construction gives it added strength. It was a bit of an experiment, a mess around really to see what I could produce.
