We have a solution already.

Daily doses of Ivermectin, eliminates Chronic Lyme Disease.

Derr... no it doesn't. It may be effective at reducing tick populations and may reduce the likelihood of you getting ticks but there is no evidence that it eliminates Lyme Disease.

If you have found new research that proves otherwise, please share, we are all interested.

I remember reading Ray Mears saying he had Lyme disease for over a decade and not knowing he had it, i mean can you actually be fully cured or does it linger in your system years later ?

Antibiotics early in the infection can usually fully cure it, though some people experience a chronic condition which plagues them for years.

Apparently it's designed for use on animals to cure various types of worm infection. As of Nov 24 no conclusive results on whether it works for Lymes.
There is a very detailed website for unfortunate folk with Lymes, who are trying all sorts of remedies not just this. Sounds a bit like the desperate searches for a cure for Covid.
One issue is that Ivermectin is supposed to be a single treatment general animal worm cure, not a long term human medicine.

Apparently the Lymes website/group have picked up this info via a similar US group suffering from a variety of infectious roundworms, who are consequently trying animal drugs.
For a variety of reasons, speculate at will, worm infection seems to be a significant problem in the USA. Even Robert Kennedy, US Health Minister, had a worm infection a while back.

“How is it possible?

Lowndes County, Alabama, is one of the poorest counties in the U.S. — so poor that many residents lack proper sewage systems. Unable to afford a septic system, residents concoct their own sewer line using PVC piping, the researchers observed. The pipe runs from the toilets in their homes and stretches off some 30 feet above ground until it reaches a small ditch.”
America is a strange place.

My doctor told me: You will be fully cured from borrelia but the longer borrelia has been in your body, there is a chance you end up with some sort of damage to your body. Especially if your health wasn't that good when you got lyme.

If not treated soon after infection then it appears to remain in your system forever, like say the herpes type viruses. I'm told by someone who knows, that it can act as an attack vector that enables other infections.

If the tick wasn’t infected then there is no “soon“ you’ll be OK.
GP response is usually “Keep an eye on it and come back if it gets any worse”.

Typically the bullseye rash appears within a week but there are stories of it spreading after a month.

Yes, it's the antibodies that will remain forever. These antibodies are what tests are looking for to see if someone has (or had) lyme. That is also the reason why tests for lyme are not working in the first week(s) because there are no antibodies in the blood.

Given the difficulty of actually seeing a doctor and the wait and see approach. What is the treatment, and is there any merit in self administrating it after any tick bite, as a just in case early intervention.
If an infection shows after a month it's probably too late to prevent long term future issues.

Strong antibiotics, which people really shouldn’t be self prescribing or taking willy nilly.

Only had ticks bite twice in my life, both times in the Highlands.

First time there were 3 on me, one behind my knee, another near my navel and the last but definitely not least near my armpit! Removed them and took the GPs advice to wait and see if I get the bullseye! Lucky me, I got one! 3 months after being bitten! Took pics of it and sent them to her and I was straight in for bloods and antibiotics with the results coming back "No further action required." Not sure if that's because I'm cured or too far gone to care about? I had no signs of illness whatsoever. They itched for weeks though.

Second time was beginning of April this year. Felt it latch on though so quickly removed it with a tick card (if you know, you know) and this time was way less itchy and no bullseye.

A mate at works wife had Lymes, undiagnosed for years, and it was debilitating. Most folk aren't aware of the signs or the risk of ticks at all. Hopefully you all never find one.

I was listening to a yt from an American herbalist who said that teasel has been successfully used to treat lymes. I had it playing in the background while I was doing something else, so didn't realy take a great deal in. I'll try and find it again, but havnt seen it in my feed since. Could be an interesting deep dive.

Doxycycline, but you need a prescription

I would be deeply sceptical and cautious of using a herbal treatment for Lymes and any claims made for the ‘successful’ treatment of it.

There is apparently some real indication that vitamin D3 helps, with it the common recommendation is Mg and vitamin K2. That combination by the way is not bad for a lot things.
