Day Out In search of swines

A nearby estate has taken to a rewilding approach, with some areas having pigs and cattle released to perform their magic on the landscape.
The pigs are especially pleasing having already met them a few days ago, I took the missus to find them but they proved elusive today so a lakeside bacon brunch was had.

Several years into a pioneering project to ‘rewild’ the land in West Sussex, we were no longer willing to use the pesticides, fungicides and artificial fertilisers once deemed so essential.

Indeed, it’s only been 3-4 weeks in the area I’ve videoed but already the released animals have churned up/fertilised some considerable area of previously fairly barren forest floor....I look forward to the future to see the long term effects.

Had a quick walk today and found them snuffling about on the forest edge, fascinating creatures.
