My tips...
Big Tarp - I use a Warbonnet Superfly and like it. It's big, has end flap things for really weatherproofing and packs small.
Hammock with a foot box - I use a Warbonnet Blackbird 1.7 dbl and love it. I had achey knees in my last few hammocks including an explorer deluxe by hennessy. The Blackbird gives no discomfort and I like the storage shelf.
Pillow - Sounds stupid but I have a little vango half moon pillow, the shape suits the hammock and it makes my neck very happy indeed, I like that it has a cool side and a warm fleece side.
Small ground sheet - One thing hammocks don't give you is a floor, having a clean dry area for stuff is very handy and increases comfort as you can jump out of the hammock in just socks.
Quilts - Before I got an under and top quilt from ukhammocks I had a thermarest and sleeping bag... both perfect on the ground but a complete faff in a hammock. It's a complete game changer.
It's all pretty expensive stuff but hammock camping needs a bit of specialised thinking to be the most comfortable. My best advice is to skip intermediate steps of equipment and go directly for the good stuff, it'll save money in the long term.
