Hi all
first of all thanks for all your help with the tie out cord suggestions.bought a couple of rolls of 2 mm 90 kg. works very well.as I have my tarp under the ridgeline I'd like to have a utility line for hanging kit from in the dry under the tarp.questions, what do you use? where do you attach it taking rain wicking to underside of the tarp into consideration? and how do you tension it?
I've attached a picture of the underside.
Cheers adeuploadfromtaptalk1393174012287.jpg

I generally hang stuff from my Structural RidgeLine on the hammock. What doesn't fit in the ridgeline organizer gets hung off the SRL.

For a seperate utility line I use a 12m piece of 7/64 Amsteel. It has a hook at one end to cinch the tree and a truckers hitch tied off with a timber hitch at the working end. I wouldn't use a utility line in heavy rain for the wicking reasons you mentioned without putting 2 drip lines/rings or other hardware in.

Thanks teepee ill have a play with a few different ways next time I'm out

No worries. :)

IME, everyone does things differently with the hammock setup. Playing around with different rigs is good to find out which you prefer. A gear hammock is another way and can just clip to the ends of the hammock.

I've not strung a utility line for a while but I used to just use my regular tarp knots, evenk thingy at one end with a truckers hitch at the other for some serious tension, handy for soggy boots or a pack.

It's just wanting to hang things to keep dry I can get at without delving into my sack.thanks though
