I'm sure this is a question we have all asked ourselves many times...

Just after you click "add to basket" and "pay now"...no?

Here is my little collection:

GST61.jpg

Clockwise from the bottom we have:

Wilkinson Sword Dartmoor with custom sheath from Lee

Mora Clipper with deer leg sheath from me

Finnish Pukko birthday present from my parents

Lannyman custom beauty also with custom sheath from Lee

Fallkniven F1

RM Bushcraft Knife with Oak handle

In the middle is a working lockable folder made from a softwood kit. (Letter opener!)

What do you think folks, too many, not enough or a nice selection of types?

Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
Your not even close to having to many mate.
Keep buying!!!

Not too many at all, more a selection starters pack. :)

Phew and there was me getting worries I was OCD when I counted 8 knives the other day in my own collection. Whooo hooo spend, spend, SPEND!

Sweet looking wooden folder that too, like that a lot! Did you make it yourself?

If i remember there is amguy on here who had twice as many woodlore knives.

A few nice ones there though and i would say keep collecting them, you can never have too many.

You can NEVER have too many knives, though as far as swmbo is concerned I have about 4 thanks to carefully ensuring I only ever have one in evidence at any one time, thankfully her lack of interest in my bushcrafting means she doesn't take enough notice to tell the difference between a mora and a mears. :)

It works the same with axes, provided it has a metal head and a wooden handle she thinks I only have the one as long as I keep the other 4 out of site! :) :) :)

I dont think there is such a thing as too many knives. I've only got 4 fixed blades at the moment, but have a growing collection of folders at 9 (7 uk legal and 2 lockers) with a ukpk ti on order and a Shing commission in the pipeline, my next purchase will be the boker bushcraft knife and then something damascus!

Some of the guys on BB are well over 200 blades so you havent got a problem yet.....better get buying! :D

Nahhhhhh that's no where near enough.

I think as long as you stick to a few that do that same thing then your ok, i can't see much point in owning say 10 bushcraft knives if they all do the same thing.

To my way of thinking you'd be better off selling all 10 and ordering a 1 off design off a proper craftsman.
That way you have something special PLUS it keeps these craftmen in jobs to teach the younger generation.

Imagine a day where there are no skilled custom knife manufacturers left in the UK.
Sounds far fetched but it happened with the bike industry then the car industry :(

Really? I always thought you were a lot younger. :lmao:

My next knife is going to be from this fella http://www.tpknives.com/ just can't make my mind up which one to go for.

Look like really nice knives, i considered ordering one a while ago, to be honest though the French names put me off :sad6:

Ended up commissioning Stu Mitchell to make one instead.

Well, if you count assembling the pieces from the kit then yes; I made it myself.

One of the other posters looked for it and found it; "Nathan's Knife Kit" or similar. It is a lovely little kit which you just push assemble with the pegs supplied and it was designed by/for a youngster to learn with. I just really liked the idea and had to have one.
