Those who protest that if hungry enough vegetarians or vegans would eat meat are sadly mistaken; humanity is full of contradictions and foods that some love others would literally starve than eat, such is the revulsion. I can manage to dissociate myself enough to cook meat, but I do so in seperate pots and use seperate utensils. It's not a bother, it's second nature to me, as anyone who has camped with me knows.
If there are animals to be hunted, then there's plant food to be gathered :) and human ingenuity makes preparation and cooking, turn something nutritionally indigestible, into dinner to be enjoyed :D
Frankly I think those who focus on hunting in a survival situation waste more energy trying to hunt that I'd gain foraging.

Gauntlet down :D

However, back to the Original Topic......courses that don't focus big chunks of time on hunting/prep, etc.,

While meat does provide a huge amount of protein and energy, Mary is quite right in saying that where there is game, there is usually the plants to go with them. If we take firearms out of the equation in this particular instance, and look at the amount of energy used within a hunt of larger game, and take this into consideration of the amount of times a hunt is successful.......
Now look at forage, while the energy benefit is lower, and a greater amount of base material is need to provide a similar calorie gain, the amount of time the forager comes back 'with' something, is greater than that of a hunter.
So saying this, which is the best method..
In my opinion you need combination of both, as plant material in unable to provide solely the amount of proteins alone to maintain a healthy balance, in the same way a meat diet is unable to provide the balance of carbs, vitamins, etc.

Secondary a modern vegetarian diet, especially containing bought products contain these missing blocks on the diet, to give a more balanced meal. If we take the bought meals out of the equation as well. then in order to maintain a good balance the introduction of high fat foraged items like nuts has to be considered, this however has a problem as these are not generally available throughout the year, so preservation and storage needs to come into play. as well as a basic form of farming in order to protect the supply.......

So in the terms of sustainable foraging within a purely bushcraft type scenario, I think it would be difficult to stay true for any significant length of time.

anyway this is how I see it, please feel free to comment

Hence all the stories (true stories) about survivors resorting to cannabalism in the lifeboats.

Sounds like you think anyone not into trapping can't be a bushcrafter

Not so much what I think but rather what the course providers you've encountered appear to think? The point is why look for generalist courses when you might have better luck picking and choosing indivdual courses?

Ive discovered that in the world there are predators you can take meat off.

Cars are one of the best, since they are abundant, and remarkably, show no interest in eating their kill.

Why do some people think that without eating animal products we would not survive. I have been a Vegan for 22 years and am still going strong at 63 years old on 28th july. I am certain that I would survive any situation without eating meat.

Ok, you're floating in a dinghy in the middle of the ocean. You do, however, have some fishing line and some hooks............

Why would I be floating in a dinghy in the middle of the ocean. Hypathetical I suppose.

I think because of your previous statement,
