Hi.

I'm looking to improve my carving range from spoons to something more challenging. Can you recommend any good books with techniques and relatively simple projects? I am no sculptor. Just stuff than can be done with a decent knife.

I'm having trouble with the ball, freeing it and making it round.

Tom it was just an old bit of timber lying around nothing special, pine or someting I think. It was a bit long it took ages to get rid of all that material and the ball is a bit long hence the time to get it round. I will get on it again this week. I've been concentrating on my handle which is ready for oiling now and then polishing. We'll see
