hi nodd cant really help you with wild camping but what i do know is that there are some fantastic places around the island and beautiful beaches largly untouched, my advice when you get there find a tourist info office they will point you in the right direction, i go there nearly every year for the TT races and i love the place there are some lovely valleys as you come off the mountain and head on a back road towards Ramsey from the bungalow/mueseum corner where the snafell tram stops, its a twisty windy road but worth it when you get to the bottom and the people have always been friendly. hope this helps
