Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
I got a Jack Pyke jacket a few years ago in the sale - cheap even not in sale - for beating and dog walking.

Its not cutting edge but can fault it fo the price.

It's stood up to some awful weather on the grouse drive on England's most remote spot. And 3 seasons of pheasant drives in some very this undergrowth.

Certainly saved me using my expensive "mountain" jackets

I have a deerhunter jacket that is pretty good but the hood is rubbish. Tend to wear it with a cap anyway when out shooting or even walking the dog. Also the Australia army goretex jacket is the most waterproof I have ever had, pretty tough too and not camo.

If the weather is dry or just very light rain then wool is what I prefer.

I like my Ventile :)
And for al lovers of Pertex - remember, t was designed to be an "Artificial Ventile" fabric :)
Ventile is not cheap though!
