Hi,

I am looking to replace my current 2 person tent. I am currently using a cheap unbranded Chinese single layer tent that is very waterproof and windproof but condensation builds up like crazy specially in winter.
The lower the cost the better and I'm not fussed about the brand but it needs to have a good ground sheet. The current tent has never let water in what ever the condition as opposed to my more expensive coleman tent, which failed miserably alongside my 2 man tent in the Isle of Sky in the middle of September.

I have looked at alpkit but they are a bit pricy and the ground sheet doesn't look great. I have some of their kit and I'm happy to wait for them to come up with something better but in the mean time I need a fairly light weight 2 man tent.
I'm using the arctic army sleeping bags at the moment which are great, hence why I don't need much extra weight.

Thanks

You want a tent to stand up to the conditions experienced in the Scottish Isles in September, to be lightweight, with a really high HH ground sheet, and be cheap? Thats not going to be easy! I went for a Zephros 2 (currently £99 from Cotswold) , and there is a huge thread on OM about them, but I'm sure there are loads of suggestions out there.

There is a discussion here: http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi...ums/thread_display.html?forum_thread_id=78532 & here: http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/news/gear-review-backpacking-tents-for-two/007760/

However, I suspect that something robust and light is not going to be particularly low cost, so something might have to give. You might get a good deal on Ebay, classifieds, etc?
