Hello People, probably the wrong place but, most of the people it affects will see it here .
Unfortunately my position at Farcome , has become 1 untenable, defense or maintenance is impossible ,2 untenable ,occupation or habitation is impossible .
It is with great sadness that, there will be no more meets at my much loved site , due to reasons beyond my control, don't want to go in to too much detail, suffice to say certain contributory factors such as the Dartmoor National Park Authority, individuals telling untruths ,frivolous reports , and a landowner that wants an easy life , it has been decided to retire the site gracefully from further gatherings , obviously i am very sad ,but i have had to concede defeat .
Anyway as most of you know , we have other sites for meets of limited numbers , and i am in negotiation with regard to new venues , so it's not all forlorn.
Also on a positive note i am aware of the individuals that have caused the odd ripple , so i have something to concentrate on. ( garden camping could become the new bushcraft )
That coupled with the fact that The National Trust actually own the freehold to the DNPA headquarters building and this year are positively encouraging wild camping on their land .
Once i have decided what gear to pack, quite fancy a long term camp on their front lawn! (should be interesting )
So just a massive thankyou to all the happy campers that came to that special piece of land and laughed with the old grey fool. Very happy memories vids and pictures .
So i may be a bit quiet for a while (not a bad thing some say ) A bit sad, down but not out !
