I was in one of those bargain bookshop-type places the other day and came across a large hardback book called 'The Culture of the Native Americans'. I had a quick look through the display copy and then bought it, I was that impressed!
Admittedly, it was about 20 quid but there are loads of pages with colour/black and white pictues and diagrams, and, if you look, quite a lot of stuff on the way that the native american tribes all over the North American continent lived their lives. Includes stuff on food, shelter, clothing, hunting, transport, etc, as well as loads of history.
I thought it was pretty good - although a wee bit expensive. Pehaps the price will go down in the new year, you never know!
