Hey all!!

I am very much looking forward to attending this years moot and putting some faces to the names i have come to know over the past year. my reason for posting is simple, upon arrival what do i do from there? i assume there is a communal area. do you just go off and find somwhere to camp on your own or do you go off in groups? Is there anybody travelling from the cardiff area at all that would fancy hooking up before hand?

Basically would like to know how it all works?

Hope you can help me! see you there!

based on what happened when I went last year, it's turn up, check in with the staff, they'll tell you where you can camp and tell you what the format is, and tell you a time to meet up in a certain area for safety demos / instructions etc...

Yeah, pretty much what dommyracer said.

As long as you check in when you arrive, and peruse the rule sheet they now hand out, then you're pretty much free to do as you please.
There is usually a quite obvious 'checking in' point near to the communal area/toilets/shop where Shelly will greet you and explain a few details.

If you don't know anyone there then don't worry - I was in that position on my first Bushmoot but was soon welcomed into a little group which made the whole experiance very enjoyable. Most people will go out of their way to help you get sorted out if you're feeling a little lost.

Just be sure not to pitch next to the Naughty Corner if you're fond of sleeping ;) :p

As above :D

Check in, find somewhere you want to set up, set up, have a wander about, talk to people etc. There's a big chute over an area on the other side of the wooden fort, that's where most get together in the evenings.

The camping area is huge so there's plenty of space. Key is to walk about with a smile on your face and have a chat where possible. Remember that everyone there is usually more than happy to be asked questions, give advice and contribute where possible.

If you need any help then just ask.

it's relaxed and so are the people there, there's not a lot to do wrong apart from not enjoy yourself :D

Lads - this is an awesome thread!

More! More! More! :)

And I'm not even going. :(

But I want to know what happens! Will the two intrepid heroes meet in the ****-end of Cardiff?

Will the '71 VW Camper make it all the way to the Moot?

Will Tengu have to rescue them after all?

Does Cap'n Badger really talk like Long John Silver-arrrrrrr! :D

And can he keep it up for the whole Moot, despite the lake of alcohol in the Naughty Corner? :1244:

Come on! What's happening? :puppy_dog

Man, do you need a holiday :D

Hey, at least you're at the right side of the country to get there for yourself, I've got the travail through the dangerous shark infested (motorway service stations  ) territory of the Angles before I get to the Cymru :)

What's the preferred grog then Cap'n ?

cheers,
Toddy

Ah, I wondered if it were home made stuff only...........and was thinking that the Moot might be Hangover Central if folks tried out the variety that was sure to be on offer :D

This will be my first visit too Woodstock, but from all accounts the drinking is simply a bit of socialising, not something heavy on the bevvy.

cheers,
Toddy
