I made myself a leather axe handle guard today using a different technique to what I have seen around so I thought I'd share!

This tip really is just about how to trace the shape of the axe head and then transfer it onto leather. It involves cutting pieces of label paper and progressively sticking it onto the axe handle and layering it around the shape of the axe head. Next step is to take the labels off and transfer them onto a piece of leather and that is really it!

Very nice job. Love those GB axes. They're absolutely gorgeous!

PS. Can anyone tell me why these threads are upside down for me? In other words, the newer posts are starting at the top, instead of going down?

Go to your settings page. Link at top right of this page?

Choose General Settings.

Scroll down to Thread Display Options.

Find the box for Thread Display Mode and play with the settings.
