Found a dead deer in a ditch

If you boil the lower part of the leg (the part with no meat) long enough the sinews, hide, hoofs etc dissolve, then you end up with hair and bones in a brown liquid, which you can render down into glue, be warned the missus will not be happy if you do this in the house :)

    Available fuel

Mineral spiritsis not methylated spirits, it is more "oily" and used as paint thinner/brush cleaner, but in Canada denatured alcohol is sold as "gas line antifreeze" (removes moisture from petrol) and is easily available.

Just found a muntjac deer on the road - need advice please!

    THe survival experts know nowt:)

I love the entertainment I get here! :) first a few comments from personal experience. I always carry several "Bic" lighters, but if they get cold they don't work. zippo's do if they have a flint and fuel. I can guaranty you fit people sweat less and need to drink way less to stay hydrated. A...

    A pilgrims Journey, Mark Baker.

I attended several talks he gave last year , very interesting. He is a great believer in learning by doing, even if you fail at first. I know the following link is the wrong side of the pond but figured I'd post it anyway. http://store.scurlockpublishing.com/apilgrimsjourneybymarkabaker.aspx

    traditional bush baby fodder?

I might add it is instinct for small children to stuff everything in their mouths, if it tastes good they eat it if bad they spit it out, So through a proses of natural selection over the years we have evolved as kids to dislike what is bad for us. Those that didnt--died.
