I've just started a level three diploma in countryside management and one of my assignments is 300 hours work experience! I'm completely up for this and desperately want to do some work with a bushcraft school. I've checked with the collage and I'm aloud but...

I don't know anyone! If anyone on here is a bushcraft instructor or knows one who wants a work experience guy who's more than happy to do over them amount of hours and any job ( I make a cracking tea 😉 ) can you please DM me further details.

thank you

You could try 'The Bushcraft Company' their advert for Tribe Leaders states no experience required and that is for paid positions. I think the company is quite large with school groups as the main clientèle so they may have the capacity to accommodate you?

I'm not sure a smaller company would take you on even if you are very keen. I've had a few lads and lasses on work experience in the past and they had to have continuous supervision and were unsurprisingly unable to do any specialist tasks. Clearly that's not their fault but it can make for a poor experience both for the provider and student.

Company I work for, Kingswood. Always get work experience guys in, you probably won't be doing a lot of bushcraft (if you come to my centre I can get you on more). It's a outdoor activity centre so we do laser, caving, zip wire, bushcraft, climbing that kinda thing. If you want I can get you an email address to contact the right people?

I'm not sure if I'd get away with that :/ it's got to be countryside "management" bushcraft schools count but I'll ask if outdoor activity centre counts, no harm in trying! Thank you I'll check with my tutor!

Work experience can mean working for yourself as well you know Denny... if offers are short on the ground, why not push forward and show that bushcrafting is more than a craft... more than a lifestyle... show it can be a career path.

There are plenty here you can learn from, plenty of resources... and striking out on your own, admitting you're a novice but willing to learn, you may learn far more than you can imagine right now.

Just an idea.
