THey are a nice bit of kit. kitty litter makes great fuel for it (the wood-pellets that is!) Will burn for an hour on one fill.

In short - yes! They are s/s, and they pack down nicely, and imo provide a more stable base than some of the others (a bit shorter but wider). THis was the same stove I had burning on repeated reloads of kitty litter at a meet a couple of months ago. Lasted about an hour a load, although will go through twigs quicker. And I found the secondary burn positively hypnotic!

Ah the Vital gets good reports, I think Geraint (treadlightly) has one he picked up for free.

Apparently, if you put the Emberlit upside down on the Vital stove firebox, it can get really interesting! Also means you can feed it with some pretty long bits of wood.
