Wild meadows for Bees

Having just spent a few hours with a Farmer friend of mine, I have been told that the Dept. for agriculture in Northern Ireland are going to pay farmers to plant out wild flowers and leave land aside for wild meadows to try and encourage more bees. Seems they are at last concerned over the decline of the bee population. It all depends though on how much the farmers will be offered. Still, I suppose it's a step in the right direction.

Good news Ginger. I would think they aren't offered that much for it judging by the other schemes they can do to get more money. But then they can do just that - follow more guidelines and improve their farm for wildlife and get a big sum at the end of the year!
