I'm leaning towards pheasant but we get a few partridge around here too. That is the kind of website I could lose myself in for some hours, having multiple nerdgasms!

There are similarities, you're right; not one I would have recognised but it's as good a match as any. In fact, browsing through, it could be a number of species
