Hi all,

Been away for a while, but ooooooh so happy to be back!!!

Need some advice on a new venture. I have been thinking about trying to get into crayfish for ages. I live on the Isle of Wight and really want to start trapping / line baiting crayfish.

Firstly, does anyone on here do this over here, or does anyone know anyone over here who might be of help?

Best wishes to all on my happy return

There have been quite a number of threads on this. Simplest thing would be to do a search on here for crayfish - you'll find a lot of information on what you need to do and on other peoples' experiences.

You do need a licence from the water agency (can't remember there real name) and permission from the land owner where the stream passes through. I have done a bit a while ago, they are great eating. There are lots of traps avalible for them even some on that auction site. Basicly bait them throw then in, pull them in the nextday and see what you have. I used to run mine along with some eel pots at the same time.
