try ebay. they are real cheap, and some are real bright
I've got one like this, it's bright 3 watts and has a tilt so you can shine it were you want it without blinding others

ok it eats batteries, I'm lucky if they last 5 hours of use but it's long enough to do what you have to do around a weekend camp. and I always carry spares.
For a cheap headlamp that is worth the cash you can't go far wrong with a alpkit indigo for £5 you can't go wrong really!

I've got an old higear one somewhere. Want it if I can find it? May suck to be honest, I can't remember, but it'll be free - you'll have to supply batteries, though.
If you can find it that would be great but if you can't no worries.
For a fiver though that alpkit indigo looks a steal.
It does seem good. I'll ferret about and see if I can find it and PM for your address if I do. If you don't like it then get the Alpkit and keep it for a spare. I got a couple of nice coleman ones in a sale ages back so I certainly don't need it. I'll let you know
