Find it odd they have specified 50 water tabs, and no container, something like a soft sided bottle would be good enough to disinfect.

My D1 is a post doc at Stanford. Palo Alto is on the San Andreas fault.
She's got quite a kit, most of it from Vancouver BC which is long overdue for a big quake.
If all the glass fell out of all the windows of the buildings in the core part of Vancouver,
the streets would be 36 - 40" deep in broken glass.

The use of the word 'pack' rather than bottle or carton would tend to suggest the preference for disposable sachet type containers akin to those found in liferaft kits in order to reduce the mass/bulk. Plus in an urban enviroment one is never going to be far away from a discarded plastic bottle.

Perhaps even more interesting is the requirement for a '2400 calorie food bar 5+ year shelf life' again this refers to a very specific product that has a re-sealable outer packaging so could in theory be used to carry water once the rations have been eaten or redistrubed to pockets.

However does anybody know what the difference is between a Dust-Mask and an Air-Aid emergency mask?
