I would actually go for a Sargents Cherry. The base swelling on the trunk is typical of a swollen graft joint.

Leaces should come out dark Red, turn green and then go orangey red in Autumn. Flowers would be pink in early Spring.

It looks like a wild cherry Prunus avium or Japanese Cherry Prunus serrulata.
