Hi everyone - I was wondering if you could help me identify this:

I think it's maple or sycamore, but I don't know..

I'd be inclined to say Field Maple, but don't take my word for it. I'd need to see the tree and look at location, size of tree, size of the leaves, etc. You could try a Google Images search on Field Maple.

Looks more like field maple to me as well, although the ones growing in my garden tend to have more pointed leaves. Sycamore has larger leaves, about 20 to 25cm, and the stem tends to be smooth whereas filed maple often has a wrinkly bark and the leaves smaller, around 10 to 15 cm. There's a chance it could be another maple, especially if found in towns etc.

It was in the hedge of a field, if that's any help.
Yeah it's fairly small, and I was inclined towards maple too, but I thought the bottom lobes weren't large enough. Is it possible these are just early leaves not fully grown yet?
I'll take some more photos when I'm home again on Friday..
