I finally got my first Toddy shirt under way tonight, and this is 3 hrs work:

Ok, it doesn't look much, but I had to learn how to use a modern sewing machine, also I've never cut out material from a pattern before (or at all!) So I'm taking my time and learning as I go. It took me and hour and a half to cut it all out and another hour and a half to 'zigzag' around all the edges.

Sorry if you were expecting to see a finished shirt, its probably a bit anti-climactic to just post a pile of bits of wool! I was to too pleased with myself and excited not to share! I'll hopefully get time over the weekend to out it together. Updates to follow!

Thanks again to Mary for the how-to thread and the pattern. Legend :)

Its a great feeling, we've made 5 of these now as absolute beginners and each gets better! Take your time and Im sure you will be happy with the result.

It should be finished in time for Summer!

Haha! Indeed it might Paul, I did question the wisdom of making a wool jumper just before summer, but I figure it'll be nice for late evenings when it's cooling down to prolong the outdoor beer drinking. :)
