Hello thought I show you some pictures I took on todays walk in an old pine forest in Sweden. The wood grow slowly here so the trees are old and the dead ones ancient. This is my favorite type of forest to walk in.
It took about 50 minutes of walking to get here from my home. Perfect weather I would say. The tracks are made by reindeers.
A very old and big stump.
These two pines prefer to start their life on solid rock.
There was lots of dead standing wood. This is fat wood. Look like it gonna fall down any second but don't let you get fooled. Many have broken their axe handles, knifes, screwdrivers etc. on this kind of wood.
These axe marks could be 1 year old or many decades.
Notice the huge branch about one third up.
I bet this brich got some wicked grain.
Spruce tar anyone?
