Timber yard in home counties???

Anybody know of any good timber yards in the home counties area?

I want to try a couple of musical instruments so am considering the following woods - walnut, cherry, maple, sycamore.

I'm hoping to find a friendly one where they don't mind you coming in and bombarding them with lots of question (most dumb) and will also plank it up for you.

Alex have you thought of contacting other musical instrument makers near you? There's at leats one I can think of in Berkshire.

Also what about furniture makers? There maybe some local to you.

About 10 yrs ago I used to get some offcuts to burn from near Burghfield or somewhere via a mate. It was all bone dry hardwood and from a furniture maker.
