Im off out this friday and I fancy giving myself a little challenge. Do I set myself a foraging focussed trip or a minimal equipment focussed trip? whatever seems most popular between now and thurs evening I will go with......

Since it is only one night, minimal equipment.

If you didn't take any food and did not forage successfully it would hardly matter for one night .

Agree with Rorymax... but why not do both? As Rorymax says, you won't starve overnight... so the challenge is minimal equipment, and if you don't manage to find anything to eat, its a slap up dinner at the local chippy the night after

Not fancy a no gear one? Foraging will suffice for 1 night I reckon
Assuming you have permission for shelter building etc

ok, decided to go with a foraging focussed trip. Although, my kit list consists of just enough to arrange a dry nights sleep without turning this into a bear grylls inspired slugfest. my equipment list is as follows;

tarp
sleeping bag and gortex cover
3/4 roll mat
12cm zebra
millbank bag
2ltrs of water
metal cup
swazi ranger shirt
wool hat
spoon
knife
FAK
ferro rod
fallkniven dc4

all packed in a sabre 45. short film to follow......
